DONT SPLASH Room 3: the Final Room
Facts checked October 25, 2026 against live gameplay sources.
Quick answer
- Room 3 is the last room of an Easy run — entering it shows "+40 Room 3" (a 40-coin room bonus) and a "Progress saved" message.
- "Room 3" is a room counter, not a stage: the stage inside it is the Maintenance Lock, with both valves.
- Whether a saved run survives death or disconnect is unverified — do not rely on the save.
- Open both valves (decoy between them), then sprint the rising-water route to the exit.
What Room 3 actually is
Search "DONT SPLASH Room 3" and you find confusion, because the game shows you two different things at once. Here is the clean breakdown:
- Room 3 is a room number, not a stage. On an Easy run the HUD counts rooms — Rooms: 1/3, 2/3, 3/3. Room 3 is the last of the three.
- Entering it displays +40 Room 3 — a 40-coin bonus for reaching the final room — followed by a Progress saved message.
- The stage banner inside Room 3 (on the classic map) is the Maintenance Lock: the two-valve finale and the rising-water escape.
So if you keep dying "in Room 3," you are really dying in the valve room or the escape sprint. Both are covered below.
The "Progress saved" message: what it does and does not mean
The Progress saved toast appears after the +40 Room 3 bonus. What is confirmed: it is a checkpoint signal tied to room progress. What isnot verified: whether that save survives a death, a disconnect, or leaving the server. Testing on recorded runs has not established that a saved run resumes.
Practical advice: treat it as a nice message, not a promise. Do not buy a self-rescue or accept a risky jump "because the run is saved." If a future update confirms run persistence, this page gets updated — until then, play Room 3 like everything is on the line, because it is.

The Maintenance Lock: opening both valves without dying
Room 3's stage is where most runs end — one way or the other. The banner says it all: "Open both valves to unlock the door. The machines are loud." Each valve opening broadcasts noise that pulls the monster toward the cabinet, so sequence matters:
- Enter and locate the monster. Do not touch a valve while it patrols nearby. Room 3 opens with a stretch of continuous yellow platform — use it to read the room.
- Open the first valve when it is far. Hold E until the progress ring fills; Valve opened (1/2) confirms it.
- Decoy before the second valve. Throw a pebble to the far side of the room — the second opening is the loudest moment of the run, and the decoy buys the window.
- Move to the second cabinet and open it. In co-op, one player valves while the other manages pebbles; solo, your own throws do both jobs.
The valves sit across separate wings of the room — recorded runs show players calling "there's one on the right" and crossing the full room between them. Budget the crossing time; it is where most valve-room deaths happen, not at the wheels themselves.

The rising-water sprint to the exit
Second valve open means the water rises and Room 3 flips from stealth to sprint:
- Forget silence. Speed is the only metric now — the exit is the only objective left.
- Head for the yellow blocks. The escape route climbs toward the exit door; recorded runs show players calling "go higher" as the flood starts.
- Watch the warning panels. "Platforms under in 30 seconds" is the classic trap — it feels like enough time to grab one more pebble. It is not. It is a full-sprint order.
- Escape. Reaching the exit ends the run and pays out: 150 on Easy from the repeatable lines, plus the 40-room bonus you already collected on the way in.
One player measured the final flood at roughly 60 seconds from the second valve. Treat that as the ceiling for the whole sprint — valve two to exit door. Watch the whole finale played clean in the video below.
Why Room 3 is where coins are won
Room 3 stacks three payouts: the +40 room bonus on entry, theroom-cleared line on the results screen, and the escape line for finishing. That is also why dying in Room 3 hurts the most — you forfeit the escape payout (150 on Easy, 300 on Normal, 450 on Hard) that the whole run was building toward. If you are farming coins, the skill that matters most is not platforming; it is making the valve sequence boring and repeatable.
Room 3 FAQ
Is Room 3 the same on Normal and Hard?
The Maintenance Lock finale appears across difficulties; the room count beyond Easy's three rooms has not been cleanly captured on Normal or Hard runs. The valve mechanics and water rise work the same way — with fewer platforms and tighter jumps around them on harder modes.
Can I open both valves before the monster arrives?
Only with perfect positioning or a teammate managing decoys. The valves are loud enough that the monster commits to the room — the standard play is decoy, valve, decoy, valve, not speed.
Does the +40 Room 3 bonus repeat?
It pays on each run that reaches Room 3 — it is a room-completion bonus, not a one-time reward. The one-time rewards are different: the 150 first-escape bonus and the 50 daily bonus on the results screen.
