DONT SPLASH Controls

Facts checked October 25, 2026 against live gameplay sources.

Quick answer

  • PC: WASD/arrows to move, Space to jump, number keys 1–5 for items, left-click to throw, hold E for valves.
  • Mobile: standard Roblox joystick + jump button; tap the item in the hotbar, then tap THROW.
  • Teammate rescue: H to call for help when downed, G to rescue a downed teammate, B to give up.
  • There is no sprint key — ignore Shift-sprint prompts; they belong to a different game.

PC controls

Movement is ordinary Roblox — if you have played any Roblox obby, your hands already know half the scheme. The game-specific keys are the item hotbar, the throw click, and the valve hold:

KeyAction
W A S D / Arrow keysMove
SpaceJump
1–5Select a tool slot; press the same number again to put the tool away
Left clickThrow the selected item (pebble, bottle, flare, toy)
Hold EOpen a valve in the Maintenance Lock (progress ring must fill)
FContext action: Push another player in the lobby; follow on-screen prompts elsewhere
HCall for help while downed
GRescue a downed teammate when "needs help (G)" shows
BGive up while downed (bleed out)

One warning that saves confusion: there is no sprint on Shift. A Shift-to-sprint prompt circulates in some videos — it belongs to It Hears The Water, a similarly named but unrelated Roblox game. DONT SPLASH movement speed is fixed.

The valve interaction, exactly

Valves are the one "hold-to-complete" interaction in the game. At a red valve wheel on the gray-green Maintenance Lock cabinet, the prompt reads E / Maintenance control / Open valve. Hold E and stay in range while the white progress ring fills; the indicator light flips from red to green on completion, and Valve opened (1/2) confirms the first of the two. Leaving range mid-hold interrupts the progress.

Mobile controls

On phones and tablets, DONT SPLASH uses the standard Roblox mobile layout plus one game-specific button:

InputAction
Left virtual joystickMove
Jump button (right side)Jump
Drag screenRotate camera / aim throws
Tap hotbar itemSelect the tool (pebble, flare, ...)
THROW buttonThrow the selected tool
Interact prompt (hold)Open valves

The critical mobile detail: selecting an item does not throw it. Tap the pebble icon first, then tap THROW — recorded mobile runs show new players tapping the icon repeatedly and wondering why nothing happens. The same two-step applies to every throwable. See it played on a phone in the only dedicated mobile recording of the game:

Lobby-only controls

Two interactions exist only in the lobby and never during runs:

  • Push (F). Near another player, F shows a Push prompt — purely social fun. A Super Push upgrade (around 32 Robux) adds a stronger single-use push to your hotbar.
  • View switch pad. Step into the "3RD PERSON / STEP IN TO SWITCH VIEW" pad to toggle first- and third-person. Third person makes platform landings noticeably easier to judge — most recorded runs play in it.

Downed-state controls (co-op)

When the monster downs you, the run is not instantly over if teammates are around. The downed player presses H to call for help; a teammate walks over and presses G when the "needs help (G)" prompt appears. Doing nothing means bleeding out via B. The Rescue Speed upgrade shortens the pull time (3 seconds at level 0), and the Rescue Rope gamepass extends how far away a rescue works.

Solo players: none of this exists for you — nobody presses G. That asymmetry is why the solo guide treats every jump as unrecoverable.

Controls FAQ

How many tool slots are there?

Three by default. The number keys go up to 5, but slots 4 and 5 only exist if you buy the 4th Tool Slot (99 Robux) and 5th Tool Slot (149 Robux) gamepasses. The keyboard hint "1–5" describes the possible range, not what is unlocked.

Is there a crouch or stealth button?

No crouch or slow-walk has been observed. Silence comes from staying off the water, not from movement mode — the game has exactly one movement speed.

Do console controllers work?

Roblox controller support handles movement and jumping, but the game-specific prompts were tested on PC and mobile; console-specific button mappings are unverified.
